The Foodborne Outbreak Investigation Online Series (FOIS) is an online self-paced training that promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to the investigation of foodborne disease outbreaks.
The goal of FOIS is to train public health professionals and other involved personnel to rapidly identify, investigate, and control foodborne disease outbreaks.
The curriculum includes 7 online courses that may be taken either as introductory training or as refresher training for more experienced staff. The standalone online courses take 3-4 hours each and can be completed as a team or independently. Each course offers a certificate of complete and continuing education credits through the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

Virtual Tabletop Exercise:
Jurisdictions have the option to work with the TN Food Safety Center of Excellence (CoE) to coordinate completing the online series as a team followed by a virtually facilitated case study. The Tennessee Food Safety CoE has adapted the Final Epi-Ready case study into a virtual curriculum that allows teams to come together and practice skills learned and reinforce module content

La serie en línea sobre investigación de brotes de enfermedades transmitidas por alimentos (FOIS) es una capacitación en línea a su propio ritmo que promueve un enfoque multidisciplinario para la investigación de brotes de enfermedades transmitidas por alimentos.
La meta de FOIS es capacitar a profesionales de la salud pública y otro tipo de personal involucrado con la finalidad de identificar, investigar y controlar de manera rápida brotes de enfermedades transmitidas por alimentos.
El plan de estudios incluye siete cursos en línea que pueden tomarse como capacitación introductoria o bien como capacitación de actualización para personal más experimentado. Los cursos en línea independientes duran de 3 a 4 horas cada uno y se pueden finalizar en equipo o de forma independiente. Cada curso ofrece un certificado de créditos de educación continua (CEU) y de finalización mediante la Universidad de Tennessee en Knoxville.
